The Psalms are a language that God gives us in which to speak to Him. They empower our own prayer so that it becomes an honest and personal dialogue with God. As a mirror of our own lives the Psalms express fear, despair, disappointment, anger, shame, sadness, sorrow, confidence, hope, praise, thanksgiving, and worship.
