“Sovereign healer
Mighty in power
Your mercy delivers us”
One of the bands serving in our youth ministry, Pilgrim&King, have just come from our annual weekend, ‘The Best Is Yet To Come’, which forms part of the SEVEN course that launched last October and is reaching its conclusion this week.
‘King of Heaven’, one of their original songs, was first released in the ‘Glorious’ EP in 2015, but it was so well received, it was also included in the album ‘This is Grace’ released the following year. This song honours God as our Creator, King and Saviour as we seek Him continuously in our daily lives. It was written by James Gatt, one of the band members and this is what he has to say about it’s message:
King of Heaven is a song which invites us to turn the eyes of our heart to God in prayer. We were created to worship our wonderful Creator, a Mighty Saviour and victorious King. He is a God who, in His greatness, comes to dwell in our hearts and this brings great joy! Even when we get caught up in the struggles of life, we need to be aware of His Presence and to seek Him more and more.
This song invites us to lift our hands as a way of expressing our heart’s desire to draw closer to Him in trust and obedience. It is a song we can pray especially when we are seeking God’s mercy, grace and healing, in full assurance that He hears us.
‘Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.’
(Hebrews 4:16)
