“You are so glorious
Beautiful God
You are my warrior
Ruler of my heart”

Pilgrim&King are one of the four bands that are currently serving in our Youth Ministry. Back in 2015 they released their first EP, ‘Glorious’.

Christopher Tate, the author of the title track tells us how it was written to remind us to worship God even in the tough times.

“This song was written as a prayer to encourage us to worship God even during those times when we feel that He is far from us, in those moments when we are tempted to lose hope and wonder to ourselves how we could face the insurmountable obstacles that come our way.
In the Old Testament story of the ‘exodus’, the Israelites had experienced the Lord’s miraculous deliverance from slavery in Egypt. This is a foreshadow of the salvation from sin, satan, and death, that He would win for us through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus. God’s promise to lead them to freedom to the Promised Land seemed impossible when they came to the Red Sea and heard that the Egyptians were in pursuit. At this point some began to doubt God’s promise.
However although the people thought that God had abandoned them, He had not: He parted the sea and they made their way across it to safety. The one who tore open the waters is the same Father God who reassures us of His glorious love and power. He always takes the initiative and invites us to come to Him over and over again because He never fails us.”

‘Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.’ (Deuteronomy 31:6)
