Staying Plugged In

A power cut in summer causes misery. No air conditioner, no fans, no lights and worst of all… no internet which cause many companies that did not have a back up service like the one you can hire at compareyourbusinesscosts.co.uk/.

Everything is so different when the current is not flowing; it really effects the rhythm of our lives, but we know it’s temporary and all will be back to normal once the power returns.

The World Unplugged

The world today is also seeing a power outage, perhaps not literally but definitely spiritually. There is a lack of joy and life is seen through the dark lens of self-centeredness and hopelessness.

Sin has caused this short circuit. Compromise and living merely for worldly pursuits have left many of us struggling and powerless. Believers too are not spared; we fumble in the darkness as we move away from the Light of our inner world.

Yet the Gospel is a gospel of power, of Light and of peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Following the Lord is hard, but we are promised strength in weakness, greatness in humility, consolation in suffering, and all this is possible if we stay plugged into the power of the Holy Spirit.

Remain in Him

Don’t let yourself become unplugged and isolated. Put the plug back into the power source through daily prayer, the sacraments and meeting Him in His word.

Don’t just wish it. Do it. And the God ‘who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”’ will fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13)
