Last week our Lamps Mission Teams positioned themselves outside a number of chapels around Malta offering free food, drinks and prayers with those who were passing by. Hundreds of people, foreigners and locals, young and old entered the chapels at Valleta Waterfront, Republic Street, Sliema, St Julians, Balluta and Mdina, lit a candle, wrote their prayer and posted it in a box which was placed in front of the Blessed Sacrament. We wished to share more than just a free drink with them; we committed ourselves to pray for all those we met.
The teams were all encouraged by Pope Frances himself who said
“Go out into the streets to evangelise, proclaiming the Gospel. Remember that the Church was born ‘in going forth’ that Pentecost morning.”

It was a great joy for us to reach out in this way and give testimony of Jesus’ personal love.
